What To Write On A Birthday Card To Boss

Moria Casan who made a temporary replacement Carmen Barbieri

Do you know who was Enemon Kawaguki? For any writer film it will have crossed his mind a story like that happened to this man. If you ever think that luck has abandoned you, be good to think in Enemon Kawaguki. It was a Mitsubishi engineer during the Second World War in a factory in Hiroshima dedicated to the defense industry, which made some Allied bombing raids target. Kawaguki did not want to complain, the bombings were dangerous, but he kept telling himself that it was more dangerous to be outside of Japan. At that time it had 40 years and was an energetic man and sportsman. On the morning of August 6, 1945, around 8 am, was in his office. Approached a B-29 but the sirens of the city had not noticed it did not involve a bombing but could be a reconnaissance aircraft or aircraft for propaganda. After seeing waves of aircraft, a solo shot was nothing important. Workers at the factory, just in case, they went to shelters and he engaged in his work, took a moment before continuing. The first feeling was an intense glow and then lost consciousness. The intense heat, perhaps 3.000C °, coal instantly became thousands of human beings. Thousands more will survive a few seconds to be hit by debris or buried under collapsed buildings. Many were thrown into rivers that had been boiled. 200,000 people died, half of the daytime population of the city and disappeared about 60,000 buildings. Upon awakening, he was naked (his clothes were burned.) The factory was deserted and was on fire as it was 5 km from ground zero. Had received two wounds, one in the head, due to an iron, and another in the back, due to a tile. Deafened and stunned, Kawaguki left the factory and the center of Hiroshima from which a nasty blow hot air. He ran to the sea and then to the river that surrounded the factory. Was enough time in the water and climbed a hill from where he saw the devastation caused by the pump. Exhausted, fell asleep. The fresh sea breeze woke him at five o'clock. The wounds and burns hurt him, but the fresh air seemed to calm them. He walked to the outskirts of the city and along the tracks found a wagon train. It was dark and I was cold, so I went into the wagon, huddled inside and went back to sleep. He awoke two days later. Do not remember anything. Was aboard a train doctors and nurses had cared for his wounds. The train goes on and on and seemed to never stop. In the end, the morning of 9, the train stopped and got out of the car Kawaguki their own feet with fellow travelers survivors started walking toward the center of the city. Appeared to be in a beautiful city far from the war and its horrors. However, in a few minutes they heard the sound of a lone B-29 approaching from the sea. Kawaguki was thrown against the curb and hit the ground all he could. The other hikers who passed by her side she looked surprised thinking it was crazy. They were about 4 kilometers from the center of the explosion in Nagasaki. He saw the glow, the heat wave of destruction. This may not lose consciousness and saw the mushroom cloud and how those around him literally exploded into flames. Kawaguki never recovered psychologically from atomic double experience. After healing the wounds suffered by the second explosion was spent wandering aimlessly around the country, with reason but lost. Unable to concentrate, fearful and constantly watching the sky appear if he saw a lone B-29. After 12 years in 1957, died in a hospital Kawaguki Nagasaki. Finally, his body was not able to withstand the radiation received. Was filed as a case 163,641, the man who survived two atomic bombs. This is only the life of one of the 8 (yes, 8!) Persons who have survived the two bombs dropped on Japan. In Japan they are known as the Lucky Eight, and the only people who were both in Hiroshima and Nagasaki when the atomic bombs were dropped. While it is very likely that more people have survived the two blasts, in fact, the Peace Museum in Hiroshima could be estimated that about 160 Niju Hibakusha-literal translation: people-bombed twice, the lack of records by government and chaos after Japan's surrender made only eight cases were confirmed. Frustrated with this situation the famed TV producer Hidetaka Inazuka decided to film a documentary called "Niju Hibaku"-Double-irradiation in which the last survivor interview, Tsutomu Yamaguchi, 90 and seemingly out Enemon history. Yamaguchi was a Mitsubishi engineer working in the port of Nagasaki. As fate would have the fateful August 6th which was triggered in the disastrously famous "Little Boy" of 13 kilotons was in Hiroshima on a business trip in order to ensure the supply of spare parts to the shipyard in Nagasaki. At the exact moment of the explosion was located 2 km from Ground Zero sheltered by a fortified installation of the industrial area of \u200b\u200bHiroshima. However, the intense heat and caused tremors suffered severe burns and bruises all over his body. Just remember seeing the flash and how difficult it was to breathe the air so hot. After seeing the uncontrolled chaos and spent two days trying to get back to their city. Upon arrival, despite the wounds decided report what happened to his boss who, like the entire population of Japan, was totally ignorant of what happened. Tsutomu engineer knew that the weapon used on Hiroshima was anything but conventional and feared that the war is already lost. Their fears would be confirmed the same day, August 9, the second bomb exploded, Yamaguchi was in the offices of the yard about 3 km from ground zero reporting and describing everything seen. He felt the intense heat and then, in his words "I thought that the explosions frightened me were following me." Took to the streets when he came to think that was the end of the world. Fortunately since then Tsutomu could live a peaceful life and raise a family. Retired and still lives in Nagasaki and spends his free time writing poems. Sources: anfrix and histories of science. BIOGRAPHY BRUCE SPRINGSTEEN

BIOGRAPHY OF BRUCE SPRINGSTEEN

Bruce Frederick Joseph Springsteen (Long Branch, New Jersey, September 23, 1949), nicknamed The Boss (in English: ' Chief ') is a singer, songwriter and guitarist widely known for its rock music and poetic lyrics linked to traditional American sentiments and particularly related to their home state, New Jersey.
Cantante Bruce Springsteen
recordings Bruce Springsteen have tended to alternate, to over three decades of rock music and other folk-oriented works, as well as the so-called heartland rock. Much of their success stems from its connection with the E Street Band, present in a large part of their recordings, and especially relevant for their particular sound and their professionalism on stage, giving concerts reaching more than three hours.

In his long musical career
Bruce Springsteen has won numerous awards, including nineteen Grammy Awards, two Golden Globes and an Academy Award. Has sold 65 million albums in the U.S. and 120 worldwide

BIOGRAPHY

Bruce Frederick Joseph Springsteen was born Zirilli in Long Branch, New Jersey on September 23, 1949 and spent his childhood and school years in Freehold Borough, New Jersey. His father , Douglas Frederick Springsteen, was a bus driver Germanic and Irish descent. His mother, Adele Ann Zirilli, was a secretary with Italian ancestry.

Raised in a Catholic,
Bruce Springsteen attended the parish school of St. Rose of Lima in Frehold Borough, where his temper early hit with both the strict morals of the school as other students. In ninth grade, he moved to regional public high school in Freehold, where his dissent, despite finishing their studies, would be evident over the past few years, even to prevent their own graduation ceremony. For a few months, went to Ocean County College, but finally abandoned.

inspiration to pursue music came when he saw action at
Elvis Presley in the TV program The Ed Sullivan Show. At the age of 13, bought his first guitar for $ 18, and at 16 his mother took out a loan to buy a guitar that cost $ 60 Kent, event rememoraría years later in his song 'The Wish'. In 1965, he became the band's guitarist The Castiles, which then would also assume the role of lead vocalist. The Castiles recorded two songs in a public recording studio in Brick Township, New Jersey, and conducted several concerts, including local Cafe Wha? Greenwich Village.

Bruce Springsteen estadounidense

the late 60's, Springsteen participated briefly in a trio known as Earth, playing in clubs in New Jersey. During this period, Springsteen acquired the nickname 'The Boss' due to his work at the time of receiving payment at concerts and distribute it among their peers. [12] Between 1969 and 1971, Bruce Springsteen conducted concerts in New Jersey environment accompanied by guitarist Steve Van Zandt, organist Danny Federici, Vini Lopez on drums and bassist Vinnie Roslin in a band called and Child, but later renamed Steel Mill (with the addition of guitarist Robbin Thompson). In January 1970, music critic for the San Francisco Examiner gave Philip Eldwood media coverage Springsteen and his band Steel Mill, writing: "I've never been so overwhelmed by a totally unknown talent." Elwood praised his 'cohesive musicality' and, in particular, told Springsteen as a "very impressive composer."

During this period, Springsteen also gave concerts at clubs in Asbury Park, steadily acquiring an entourage of worship. With the addition of pianist David Sancious, the nucleus of what later became in the E Street Band was already formed, with occasional contributions from a horn section, a female vocal group known as The Zoometes and Southside Johnny Lyon on harmonica. Moreover, his prolific songwriting ability helped to draw the attention of several people who were to change his life and beyond: Mike Appel and Jim Cretecos, subsequent representatives, and the Columbia Records producer John H. Hammond, who, under pressure from Appel, Springsteen called for a hearing in May 1972.

1972-1974: contract with Columbia Records and first album

Bruce Springsteen signed a recording contract with Columbia Records in 1972 with the help of John H. Hammond, who had hired Bob Dylan for the same label a decade earlier. Their debut album, Greetings from Asbury Park, NJ, published in January 1973, established as a favorite Springsteen music critics, [13] even though sales were slim. Because of his influence and music lyric-oriented folk rock songs like 'Blinded by the Light' and 'For You', the critics began comparing to Springsteen to Bob Dylan. In this regard, the editor of Crawdaddy magazine, Peter Knobler wrote in March 1973: "He [referring to Bruce] sings with a freshness and urgency have not heard since I was knocked out by 'Like a Rolling Stone.'' For his part, Lester Bangs wrote in Creem in 1975 when Springsteen had released his first album, "many of us reject: he wrote like Bob Dylan and Van Morrison, sang like Van Morrison and Robbie Robertson, and led a band that sounded like by Van Morrison. " The song 'Spirit in the Night "especially showed Morrison's influence on Springsteen, while' Lost in the Flood 'marked the first of many portraits of Vietnam veterans.

In September 1973, his second album, The Wild, the Innocent & the E Street Shuffle, was released and again praised by music critics, but its commercial reception was lukewarm. Springsteen's songs began to adapt in form and scope, with the E Street Band providing a sound closer to R & B over folk.

On May 22, 1974, music critic Jon Landau wrote in The Real Paper after seeing Springsteen in a concert at the Harvard Square Theater, 'I saw the future of rock and roll, and his name is Bruce Springsteen
. And on a night when I needed to feel young, he made me feel like hearing music for the first time. "[16] Landau became the representative and Springsteen music producer, helping to finish his new work, Born to Run. Despite having a large budget to spend in order to create a commercially viable album, Springsteen began to stagnate in the recording process. His recording was developed in 14 months, six of which were dedicated to the song 'Born to Run'. During this time, Springsteen was frustrated, even said he heard 'sounds in their head' was not able to explain to other musicians in the studio. Its main support was Steve Van Zandt, Bruce who helped organize the sound, especially in the horn section on "Tenth Avenue Freeze-Out ', was finally added to the cast of the E Street Band.

1975-1981: Born to Run and success

On 13 August 1975, Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band kicked off a ten concerts in five nights at the Bottom Line club New York. The concerts attracted the media, being broadcast on WNEW-FM and serving many skeptics as evidence favorable musical criticism. (Decades later, the music magazine Rolling Stone concert as one of the 50 moments that changed rock and roll.) With the publication of Born to Run on August 25, 1975, Springsteen was finally successful. Although not particularly easy to produce success, the songs 'Born to Run', 'Thunder Road', 'Tenth Avenue Freeze-Out' and 'Jungleland' was promoted massively in American radio stations. With its panoramic and optimistic lyrics, many of his followers believe Born to Run one of the best works of Springsteen with the E-Street Band. To capitalize on the triumph, Springsteen appeared on the cover of Time and Newsweek the same week, on 27 October.

A legal battle with his former agent, Mike Apple, Springsteen kept away from the recording studio for two years, when they took the opportunity to engage with the E Street Band on an extensive U.S. tour as promoción de Born to Run.
Musicalmente, el álbum supone un punto de inflexión en la carrera de Springsteen, dando cabida a canciones más light and better prepared in which reflected the growing awareness of political and moral Springsteen and the musician described the struggle and survival stories featuring individuals living outside the American dream.

Bruce Springsteen concert in the tour for The River in Drammen, Norway, May 5, 1981.A late '70s, Springsteen had earned a reputation as a composer enough to provide songs other groups. In this sense, Manfred Mann's Earth Band reached number 1 on the U.S. charts with a version of 'Blinded by the Light'. For its part, Patti Smith reached number 13 with a version of the unreleased song 'Because the Night', while The Pointer Sisters reached an unprecedented success with also 'Fire'.

In September 1979,
Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band joined the anti-nuclear group Musicians United for Clean Energy in two concerts at Madison Square Garden in New York.

Bruce Springsteen continued to consolidate working life as a theme of his songs with the double album The River in 1980, which finally gave him his first hit single, 'Hungry Heart'. Album sales were remarkable and its publication was followed by a promotional tour that Springsteen took to Europe for the second time.

1982-1989: Back to the roots of folk and international recognition
When
expected continuity in their music, Bruce Springsteen Nebraska published in 1982, an album intimate, acoustic and recorded by Springsteen himself with a four-track machine in a room of your home and where again the bitter side of Middle America came to light in a strong work of social criticism. According to the biography of Dave Marsh, Springsteen crossed over the time a state of depression that affected the outcome of the album. In this regard, Nebraska was started as an album of demos that would later be interpreted by the E Street Band, but during the recording process, Springsteen and producer Landau noted that the songs worked best in acoustic format.

Hailed by critics (it was named album of the year by critics of the music magazine Rolling Stone), but with sales of more discreet than his previous work because of their low commercial vocation, Nebraska has become over the years in reference piece other artists, including U2 during the recording of The Joshua Tree, and a cult film among its staunchest supporters.

mid-eighties, Bruce Springsteen
achieved the status of international star and idol of American popular culture thanks to your hard Born in the USA in 1984, which sold over 15 million copies around the world. The album's title track was a bitter comment on the treatment they were subjected to Vietnam veterans, some of whom shared a friendship with Springsteen, but the song was misinterpreted and used in the 1984 presidential campaign . Moreover, 'Dancing in the Dark' was a great success as a single, reaching # 2 on the Billboard singles chart, while 'Cover Me', originally written for Donna Summer, was included on the album at the request of own label. In place of 'Cover Me', due to Springsteen's penchant for music of Summer, for the artist wrote the song 'Protection'.

During the promotional tour for Born in the USA, Springsteen met the actress Julianne Phillips, whom he married in Lake Oswego, Oregon, on May 13, 1985. Still, the couple divorced in 1988, which served as a theme for some songs from 1987 album Tunnel of Love

The aftermath of the publication of Born in the USA was one of the periods of high popularity of Springsteen, in which reached its maximum visibility in American popular culture. In this context, Live/1975-85, a five-disc box (later reduced to three CDs) was released in late 1986 with unprecedented success by selling 13 million copies in the United States and become the first box set to debut in the top spot on the Billboard 200. Summarizes Live/1975-85 Springsteen's musical career to date and shows some of the most attractive and powerful for his followers, such as long spoken introductions of songs or instrumental prowess of the E Street Band.

After

commercial peak, Bruce Springsteen Tunnel of Love published a more contemplative album in which the musician is interested in exploring the intricacies of relationships and the fears and personal shortcomings , and in which first ignores the E Street Band, occasionally calling some members of the group to participate in the songs individually. The subsequent tour for Tunnel of Love has introduced changes to the usual Springsteen concert with changes in the design, the absence of some classic songs and arrangements based on horn section. During the European leg in 1988, Springsteen's relationship with the chorus of the E Street Band, Patti Scialfa became public. In late 1988, Springsteen led the tour Human Rights Now! Amnesty International. In the fall of 1989, Springsteen disbanded the E Street Band and Scialfa relocated to California.

1990-2000: without the E-Street Band

In 1991, Bruce Springsteen married Scialfa, who had three children: Evan James (born 1990), Jessica Rae (in 1991) and Sam Ryan (1994). In an attempt to reflect the stability and achieved happiness with her new marriage and his recent fatherhood, accompanied by session musicians, Springsteen released two albums sets: Human Touch and Lucky Town. Both were criticized by the followers of the style of the E Street Band, plotting to ignore the book tour conducted by then dubbed Springsteen with The 'Other' Band. Moreover, for other fans who had met Springsteen in 1975 after consolidation of the E Street Band, the new tour represented an opportunity to see the development of Springsteen with a new lineup. An appearance on the television show MTV Unplugged in electric format, published under the Name In Concert / MTV Plugged, received unfavorable reviews in relation to previous works.

A year later, Bruce Springsteen
won a Academy Award for the song 'Streets of Philadelphia', included in the soundtrack of Jonathan Demme's film Philadelphia, thereby recovering the prestige questioned in its last stage musical.

In 1995, after temporarily rearrange the E Street Band to record multiple tracks on Greatest Hits (sessions later recovered for the documentary Blood Brothers), Bruce released his second album in an acoustic format, The Ghost of Tom Joad, inspired John Steinbeck's novel Grapes of Wrath and awarded a Grammy for best contemporary folk album. The album received generally worse compared to Nebraska, largely due to its minimal melody and the political nature of the songs, but also was praised for giving voice to immigrants and other neglected sectors in American culture. The subsequent book tour, developed in theaters worldwide, including many of his old repertoire modified and adapted to the acoustic format.

After the tour, Springsteen returned to New Jersey with his family
. In 1998, he published Tracks, a four-disc box discarded songs over previous years. In 1999, it became official around Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band on stage, performing a new tour, titled Reunion Tour, toured for a year much of the geography world.

2000-present: Back to the E-Street Band

The reunion tour Bruce Springsteen with the E Street Band ended with ten concerts at Madison Square Garden New York sold out and the controversy around the song 'American Skin (41 Shots) ', composed after the death of Amadou Diallo at the hands of the police Yorker in a case of police brutality and racism in the eyes of the public. The last concert at Madison Square Garden were recorded and published on CD and DVD under the title of Bruce Springsteen & the E Street Band: Live In New York City and issued as a television documentary by HBO

In 2002,
Bruce Springsteen released The Rising, his first studio album with the E Street Band in 18 years. The album, largely a reflection of the 11-S, received a critical and commercial success. In this regard, The Rising became in the best selling album of his career in 15 years. Some of the songs were influenced by Springsteen had telephone conversations with relatives of people killed in terrorist attacks, in which mentioned the importance of music in their lives. After appearing on NBC's Today show, Springsteen kicked off the tour The Rising Tour, coming to play 10 nights at Giants Stadium in New Jersey. [25] Following the tour, Springsteen released the DVD Live in Barcelona concert offered on October 16, 2002 at the Palau Sant Jordi in Barcelona.

The ceremony Grammy Awards 2003,
Bruce Springsteen sang the song 'London Calling 'by The Clash with Elvis Costello, Dave Grohl and member of the E Street Band Steven Van Zandt in tribute to Joe Strummer.

In 2004, Bruce Springsteen
announced its participation in the Vote for Change tour with the E Street Band and other musicians and groups such as John Mellencamp, John Fogerty, Dixie Chicks, Pearl Jam, REM and Jackson Browne . The concerts were scheduled in 'swing states' to benefit America Coming Together and to encourage people to exercise their right to vote. While Springsteen had previously given concerts for charitable causes like the fight against nuclear power or on behalf of Vietnam veterans, their participation on Vote for Change was the first time that Springsteen openly declared their votes to the Democratic Party, and especially the presidential candidate John Kerry. During the election campaign, Kerry used the issue of Bruce 'No Surrender' as the theme song, even to include the participation of Bruce in recent campaign events.

Devils & Dust, released on April 26, 2005 and recorded without the E Street Band, returns to the acoustic format with a style very similar to Nebraska and The Ghost of Tom Joad, but with more instrumentation. The album's title track reflects the feelings and fears of a soldier during the invasion of Iraq in 2003. Starbucks rejected marketing agreement to promote the new album, due in part to the sexually explicit lyrics of the songs, but also anti-corporate politics of Springsteen. Nevertheless, Devils & Dust reached number one on the U.S. charts, Austria, Switzerland, Sweden, Denmark, Italy, Germany, Netherlands, United Kingdom and Ireland.

Bruce Springsteen hit the road solo Devils & Dust Tour at the same time as the album's release, playing in big venues like small venues. In some places there were large numbers of people, so that except Europe, it was easier to get tickets compared to other occasions. Unlike the solo tour following the publication of 'The Ghost Of Tom Joad' to mid 90's, Bruce played piano, electric piano, organ, autoharp, ukulele, banjo, electric guitar and pedal steel and acoustic guitar and harmonica, bringing some variety to the sound alone. (Some songs are made use of a synthesizer, other acoustic guitar and percussion, but not appear on the stage.) The prodigious interpretations of 'Reason to Believe', 'The Promised Land', and 'Dream Baby Dream "(from the band Suicide) Shook the public, while rarities, frequent unplanned songs and his desire to continue experimenting, including errors at the piano, contented with his most loyal followers by providing a factor of spontaneity to the concerts.

In November 2005, the New Jersey Senators Frank Lautenberg and Jon Corzine spearheaded a resolution at the United States Senate to decorate Springsteen coinciding with the thirtieth anniversary of the album Born to Run. Although a large majority of the decorations to Native Americans are approved with a traditional voting system, the resolution was rejected by a committee. The same month, Sirius Satellite Radio launched E Street Radio, a chain of including radio Springsteen music, interviews and daily concerts, 24 hours a day.

After completing the tour, Bruce Springsteen
was involved in recording a folk album tribute to Pete Seeger and the American Tradition, published in April 2006 under the title We Shall Overcome: The Seeger Sessions. The album was recorded with a long list of musicians, which include members of the Miami Horns, violinist Soozie Tyrell and his wife, Patti Scialfa, forming the group The Seeger Sessions Band. In contrast to previous work, We Shall Overcome was recorded in only three sessions, and can hear himself screaming Bruce chords while the band improvised. Bruce Springsteen's tour with the Seeger Sessions Band Tour began the same month, obtaining good results in Europe, [28] which garnered favorable reviews and significant sales in relation to several concerts in the U.S., where newspapers echoed poor sales in several concerts. In July, Bruce Springsteen with The Sessions Band: Live in Dublin, a selection of songs performed during three concerts at the Point Theatre in Dublin, Ireland, was published.

After the tour with The Sessions Band, the December 2, 2006 participated in the festival benefit Light Of Day, Foundation for Parkinson's disease and amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, where he played with Joe Grushecky and Jorge Otero, singer and guitarist of Stormy Mondays.

The first single, 'Radio Nowhere' was released as a free download on 28 August. On October 7, Magic debuted in first place in Ireland and the UK, while Greatest Hits re-entered the Irish album chart at 57th. Also, Sirius Satellite Radio reissued since 27 September, the E Street Radio channel 10.

Following the release of Magic, Springsteen and the E Street Band embarked on the tour Magic Tour, which began in the Hartford Civic Center Hartford, Connecticut. During the tour, organist Danny Federici was forced to leave in November 2007 upon being diagnosed with melanoma. After battling the disease for three years, Federici died April 17, 2008.

On November 2, 2008, in an act of the election campaign of Barack Obama
, Springsteen released the song 'Working on a Dream' a duet with Patti Scialfa. The song served as a precedent for the publication of a new work study, Working on a Dream, published on January 27, 2009.

On January 11, 2009, Springsteen won a Golden Globe for her song 'The Wrestler', included in the eponymous film by Mickey Rourke. On February 1, performed at halftime of the Superbowl XLIII performing "Tenth Avenue Freeze-Out ',' Born to Run ',' Working on a Dream 'and' Glory Days'.

On April 1, 2009, Bruce Springsteen

The tour was embroiled in controversy in February 2009 when it was found that Ticketmaster, the official site selling tickets through the Internet, redirecting to TicketsNow buyers subsidiary, where the tickets were sold at a higher price.
